Championing environmental justice with Ecocide Law Alliance
Mattias Isaksson proudly supports the Ecocide Law Alliance (ELA), a Swedish trust working to make ecocide—severe environmental destruction—as a fifth crime under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC). Mattias contributes by raising awareness, building connections, and developing materials to advance ELA’s mission of protecting the planet for future generations.
"It’s a no-brainer for me. Protecting the planet is protecting ourselves and future generations. I for sure don’t want to answer my grandchildren why I did nothing even when the evidence was staring me right in the face. It is really the missing piece of the puzzle to have crimes against nature, aka Ecocide. as an international crime under the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court"
- Mattias Isaksson, Head of UP Sweden
About Ecocide Law Alliance
The Ecocide Law Alliance, established in 2022, is a foundation dedicated to advocating for the inclusion of ecocide— mass environmental destruction —as a fifth crime under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
By uniting forward-thinking businesses, the Alliance aims to promote sustainable practices and fair competition within planetary boundaries, emphasising the need for legal clarity to support responsible business operations.
