Becky’s Tradition: Christmas Eve on Ice

A New Christmas Eve Tradition
For Becky and her family, Christmas Eve has taken on a new rhythm in recent years. Each year, they head to a local outdoor ice rink in Kent, gathering with friends before the family celebrations begin. It’s a moment carved out just for togetherness - a chance to pause, catch up, and enjoy the excitement that builds as Christmas draws closer.
Friends, Laughter, and a Few Penguin Aids
The skating itself is all part of the fun. Progress is slow, confidence varies, and for now the children still rely on penguin skating aids - a perfectly acceptable excuse, at least for a few more years. What matters most isn’t improving year on year, but sharing the experience: laughter on the ice, time with friends, and that unmistakable Christmas Eve feeling of anticipation before Father Christmas arrives.
